    Two exhibitions by Marlene Dumas will take place at the Albertinum and the Kupferstich-Kabinett, Dresden. In the Albertinum, a series titled Skulls will be displayed. For Dumas, a painter interested in the human condition, the skull motif is fundamental. Hung as a frieze, the work invites viewers to approach the skulls individually, to observe and study them in their singularity and to recognise, eventually, the universal condition that affects every person.

    Tacita Dean to Exhibit at Three Major London Institutions in 2018

    Frith Street Gallery is delighted to announce that Tacita Dean will stage three distinct exhibitions in an unprecedented collaboration between the Royal Academy of Arts, National Portrait Gallery, and National Gallery, London opening in March 2018.

    The three exhibitions, Tacita Dean: LANDSCAPE, PORTRAIT, STILL LIFE, shaped by Dean’s response to the individual character of each institution, will explore genres traditionally associated with painting – landscape at the Royal Academy of Arts, portraiture at the National Portrait Gallery and still life at the National Gallery – seen through the contemporary prism of Dean’s wide-ranging artistic practice.

    Dayanita Singh Launches Museum Bhavan in Cross-European Tour

    Dayanita Singh will be launching Museum Bhavan across Europe this September. Museum Bhavan is a boxed set of nine miniature concertina-form books printed at Steidl in Germany, contained in a special handmade box from India. Each book has a different theme from Singh’s archive, from intimate portraits to the human presence in long-used machinery and furniture.
