Curated by Hammad Nasar MBE with Rosie Addenbrooke and Alice Swatton, Divided Selves: Legacies, Memories, Belonging, explores the notions of belonging and living together at a time when the idea of nation is under stress, threatened by challenges ranging from populism to armed conflict.
As part of the group show, Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press's monumental video work, Pranayama Organ (2021) shown at the 59th Venice Biennale and solo exhibition in South Korea in 2021 will make its UK debut. Visitors are immediately welcomed with Banner's video installation and invited to watch from her customised bean bags, Flap and Wing (2022), mediating on the futility and bathos of conflict and competition.
