Dayanita Singh: Photo Lies opens at the Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation (JNAF), Mumbai on 21 November, marking the start of an ambitious new touring exhibition conceived by the artist to ask the question: How do you disseminate an exhibition?
In the wake of Singh’s recent retrospective Dancing with my Camera, this new multi-venue project addresses this question by showing different configurations of an exhibition in different cities, adding something new and specific with each iteration. This model reflects Singh’s approach to her ‘museum’ structures which are able to change, both in their form as well as in the images they hold.
In addition to Photo Lies at JNAF, exhibitions will open simultaneously and subsequently across India.
